Aoi (2019) + Instant Camera (2017)

Two short films by Suzue Takayuki.

You can find these under Boys Platonic on MDL and Letterboxd. This was the title given to the cinema screening since it was a double feature. Please note I'm using the production years for these (which are technically also release years in this case, but not general public release in the form of Boys Platonic).

Aoi

Synopsis: Hayato (who dreams of becoming a photographer), Asuka (who finds happiness in the casual moments of daily life) and Ren (who has a natural talent for photography) are senior high school students in their final year that are all in the photography club. Asuka and Ren are applying to university through recommendation, while Hayato is taking the general entrance exams. Nearing graduation, Hayato is forced to think about his feelings for Ren and his future in photography.

I have no idea how I even finished this one. I only hope it makes sense. I wasn't sure whether to even share it because some of these lines are impossible to hear, but most of it should be correct. Very tricky though. Ban me from subbing this director. I liked the music in this one, so maybe someone else will like it too. I'll correct this if the director releases this again on YouTube with Japanese captions.
